== Colonization ==
To colonize new [[Planetes/Astroids | planets or asteroids]] they first need to be discovered by a player. In order to do so it is necessary to design a drone, produce it and send it on a discovery mission.



If the discovery mission of the drone is successful (the chances of success can be increased with the research scanner technology), a colonization ship can be sent to make that planet/asteroid usable to a player.


== Espionage ==
One of the most important things in battle is to know the strenght of ones opponents. Without detailed knowledge of the fleet size and strenght an adequate tactic cannot be developed and can thus mean the decline of ones empire. Espionage missions can be done with drones.
