The Betatest for Steam for Linux has started. 1.000 users, which are choosen via survey, can now test it. Currently there are over twenty games available including Team Fortress 2. Also available is the big picture mode which is also in beta. It is designed for large TVs and Controllers, so it offers the same feeling as a console. The installer is a Debian-Pakage which can be downloaded by everyone. If you start it with this command steam steam://store you can also test it. After the first download it shuts down cause of the limited beta. If you start it again it works. You also have to restart if you change the user.
